Romantic Things to do in Myrtle Beach
With Valentine’s day right around the corner, you are likely starting to think of what you and your sweet thing will do for the holiday. If you happen to find yourself in Myrtle Beach for Valentine’s Day, you will find yourself with an overwhelming amount of choices for things to do! As someone who has had the pleasure of spending four Valentine’s Day here, I have had some good experiences and some bad ones!
So, I am going to let you guys in on my favorite Romantic Places in Myrtle Beach!
Brookgreen Gardens:
Open on Valentine’s Day: Yes
Reservations: N/A
Price: $$
One of my favorite places in Myrtle Beach is Brookgreen Gardens! From long walks through sculpture gardens, to dining in the small café they have, I can never seem to get enough of this beautiful place. Also, make sure that your phone is charged because you will likely want to take a ton of pictures, seriously I never leave with less than 100 photos. I can’t help but think that this place might get a little crowded should the weather be nice, however, the gardens are so large, it will feel like you are alone. You can also have picnics here, you know if it is warm enough to sit outside.
The Library:
Open on Valentine’s Day: Yes
Reservations: Yes; Recommended
Price: $$
This is also one of my favorite places in the Grand Strand! Every time I walk in I feel like I am walking back in time. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, this would be the restaurant for you! All of the servers are amazing and know the menu in and out, they can even help you pair your meal with the right drink! I am not sure if the Library will have a set menu on Valentine’s Day, but I will let you know as soon as I find out.
SeaBlue Restaurant and Wine Bar:
Open on Valentine’s Day: Yes
Reservations: Yes; Recommended
Price: $$$
SeaBlue takes fine dining to a new level in the Grand Strand. From the atmosphere to the dining staff, SeaBlue is fine dining! I have never ordered something from here that I didn’t like, and the wait staff is great at helping you decided if you are stuck! The menu is a mix of American cuisines with some French elements. My favorite thing to order here is the 14 oz. Bone-In Filet. I have never been here on Valentine’s Day, but I could see it getting busy, so if you want to make this your Valentine’s Dinner spot, I highly recommend making a reservation.
Downtown Conway:
I think that a lot of people forget about little ole Downtown Conway, but it shouldn’t be overlooked if you are looking for a romantic evening. Complete with shops, restaurants, and entertainment, you are sure to find something to do for Valentine’s Day.
My first thought for a romantic night out was to go get a bite to eat from Rivertown Bistro or Bonfire Taqueria and then head over to the Theatre of the Republic to watch a play. However, TOR is closed on Valentine’s Day, so that plan has been nixed. TOR will be open, ‘Love Letters’ on Feb. 15, so if you wanted to do a belated Valentine’s date, you certainly could.
Rivertown Bistro:
Open on Valentine’s Day: Yes
Reservations: Yes; Recommended
Price: $$
Rivertown Bistro is a sort of hidden gem in Conway. With a seafood-heavy menu, this is definitely a good place to go if you enjoy fish. My favorite thing about Rivertown, is they offer a lot of things that you cannot get anywhere else in the Grand Strand, or at least that I know of. My go-to meal here is the Duck Confit melt with Bacon – seriously out of this world!
Bonfire Taqueria :
Open on Valentine’s Day: Yes
Reservations: Yes; Recommended
Price: $$
Conway’s and I think the Grand Strands only Gastropub is Bonfire Taqueria. If you are wondering what a gastropub is, it is a pub that also serves high-quality food. Bonfire Taqueria definitely meets those requirements! If you are looking for a more laid back and relaxed Valentine’s Day meal, this place is for you. From tacos to plates, to fish, there is sure to be something for even the pickiest of eaters. They also have 10 beers on tap, some of which are from local areas.
Brentwood Restaurant and Wine Bistro:
Open on Valentine’s Day: Yes
Reservations: Yes; Required
Phone Number: 843-249-2601
Price: $$$
Brentwood Restaurant is always a good place for a date night, but the ambiance on Valentine’s Day is something else. Brentwood does have a set menu for Valentine’s Day and it will be the only menu available. The set menu comes with an appetizer from a choice of 4, entrees from a choice of 5, and dessert for two. I am so happy to see that my favorite Entrées is on the menu for Valentine’s Day and that is there, ‘Dry Age Angus Ribeye,’ – it comes wrapped in bacon, it is love on a plate! Brentwood is sure to be a popular place on Valentine’s day, so be sure to get your reservations in now!
Aspen Grille:
Open on Valentines: Yes
Reservations: Yes; Recommended
Price: $$
Another Fine Dining option for you to choose from. Aspen Grille brings simple dishes like shrimp and grits to the next level! Their menu is seafood-heavy, however, they do have steak and chicken dishes. The wait staff is some of the best in the Grand Strand. I have only dined here once, so I cannot offer that much insight, I would definingly dine here again. I ordered the lamb rack, and it was probably the best lamb I have ever had!
Aspen Grille also offers the widest selection of vegetarian and vegan options on this list 🙂
Malibu of Surfside:
Open on Valentine’s Day: Yes
Reservations: Yes; Required
Price: $$
I saved the best for last! I know I already have a few favorites in this list, but this one tops them all. Malibu of Surfside is a small, Italian restaurant only a few blocks from the beach. The food is prepared the same way as it would be in Italy and has never disappointed. They usually have a set menu for Valentine’s Day, however, if need something subsisted, they are usually more than happy to help you out. I could go on and on about this place, the atmosphere is that of a small Italian family-owned restaurant, the wait staff goes above and beyond, you cannot go wrong with Malibu of Surfside. But, you will need a reservation, don’t say you weren’t warned! I know I got mine in.
