Named by TripAdvisor as One of the Top Ten Public Gardens in the US and one of the Myrtle Beach area’s most dearly loved attractions, Brookgreen Gardens’ combination of art, history, and zoo touches the heart and teaches the mind. Boat rides turn into history lessons, a butterfly house becomes a conservation class, and an Enchanted Storybook Forest engages children’s imagination. Open daily to the public. Admission is good for seven consecutive days.

I have lived in the Surfside Beach and Murrells Inlet area my whole life. My family and I go to Brookgreen a minimum of 3 times a year: When the azaleas are in bloom, the fall festival and Night of a Thousand Candles. It is always gorgeous and never gets old. It is even better going on non-event days when it is less crowded. That way you can just relax and take in the beauty at a slow pace. – Patty Vitello
We really loved our visit here – we wished we could explore more when it wasn’t so hot! We paid extra for the Trekker tour and it was totally worth it. Our guide told us some fascinating information about the history and nature on the property. Beautiful grounds! A hidden gem that I will be recommending to everyone I know who visits the Myrtle Beach area. – Beth Shinkle Potthast
